The drill point die is responsible for forming the self-drilling end of self-drilling screws (drill point), those that need no pilot hole because the point itself drills through the sheet before the thread engages. It shapes the cutting geometry of the point — the two wings/flutes and the channel that evacuates the chip — which must be perfectly symmetrical so the screw drills straight and fast.
It is a critical item in metal roofing, steel frame, door and window frames and drywall with metal profile. Made of carbide for its wear resistance, with the point profile machined by EDM/CNC according to the sheet thickness the screw will drill through. KS supplies and replaces the tooling maintaining the project's drilling capacity.
