The engraved punch carries, on its working face, the marking in low relief (or high relief, depending on the desired result) that is imprinted on top of the screw head. Through it come the manufacturer identification, the strength class (8.8, 10.9, 12.9), torque arrows and other symbols required by standard or by the customer. The engraving takes place together with upsetting, with no additional operation, ensuring repeatability across the whole batch.
The engraving is cut by electrical discharge machining (EDM) or precision CNC machining on carbide or tool steel, with surface treatment to withstand the wear of serial production. KS produces the punch from the customer's artwork/drawing and replaces worn items keeping exactly the same graphics — important for traceability and visual standardization of the part.
