The hex punch is the tool that opens the internal hexagonal housing (Allen socket) in the screw head, typical of cylindrical-head screws (DIN 912 / ISO 4762), countersunk and headless. It penetrates the upset material forming the six faces of the socket with a sharp edge and constant depth — a condition for the key to transmit torque without stripping the socket.
Because it works under extremely high contact pressure at the corners of the hexagon, it is made of fine-grain carbide, with corner radii and relief angles calculated for maximum service life. KS supplies the punch in the socket size (width across flats) per DIN/ISO and replaces the wear tooling, maintaining the tolerance that ensures the wrench fit.
